Enforcement Projects
Everyone expects that when a business does not comply with food safety and hygiene laws, traditional enforcement techniques such as the service of notices, prosecution or even closure will impact in such a way that the business will improve for the better. Sometimes, in practice, this just does not happen. There are often complex issues that affect compliance.
Moonlight Environmental Ltd has worked in partnership with a major inner London local authority in a fifteen month project to develop a model that raises food business compliance. The model usees tailored initiatives such as charters, provision of consultancy and tailored training. The project delivered was independently evaluated and endorsed by King’s College, University of London.
It is hoped that the successful model can be used within other local authorities with problematic, consistently high-risk rated food businesses.
