Accoustics

Noise problems can cause nuisance as well as injury to health.  Legal requirements are set out in environmental protection and health and safety legislation.  In addition to the application of criminal law, those suffering can claim using civil law.

All our consultants are qualified by the Institute of Acoustics and carry out acoustic surveys using state of the art equipment.  This enables broad band, octave and third octave band analysis to help understand the character of the noise and assists in determining appropriate attenuation measures.

Consultancy Services - Nuisance Assessment

Noise nuisance can affect the lives of people in their homes and can leave them miserable.  Assessments are not usually simply based upon a decibel level but upon a large number of other factors. Our many years of experience in this field enables us to respond to requests for an opinion and swiftly provide a report. We often liaise with enforcers and can help both parties reach settlement by negotiation without need for legal action. Where engineering solutions to a noise source problem are appropriate, we can help draw up specifications. If an Abatement Notice has been served we can assess its merits and assist in appeals - see our Expert Witness page for further details.
